Mabuhay! 

 

I'm Althea (She/Her) based in the Philippines. Ours is a country of 7,000 islands with 3 island groups and I am currently settled in the island of Luzon, in its capital of Metro Manila. My paternal ancestors come from the island group of Mindanao with Islamic roots, while my maternal ancestors are from the province of Laguna, also in Luzon. Colonized by Spain, America, and the Japanese, with my maternal relatives directly impacted by the Japanese occupation, I am decolonizing and feel the responsibility to reclaim my roots and serve future generations.

 

I started working for a local non-profit in 2021 and realized soon that the only way to regenerate the planet is through human beings reconnecting to Her Spirit and reclaiming our indigenous roots and ways. My spiritual connection to Mother Gaia was awakened in the first years of the pandemic but before that I have felt the grief of the planet since I was 12. 

 

I want to serve and use the medicine given by the ancestors to contribute to healing the planet. I am honored to be a part of this Great Turning and be a witness to its unfolding.
